Privacy Policy
How Fit It Fast Home Appliance Repairs collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Last updated: 31 July 2026
Fit It Fast Home Appliance Repairs ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect through our website at fititappliancerepairs.co.za and in the course of providing repair services, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Contact and booking details you submit through our contact form or over the phone: name, phone number, email address, suburb, appliance type and a description of the fault.
- Service records created when we carry out a repair: the work done, parts fitted, quotes, invoices and guarantee details.
- Communication records such as WhatsApp messages, emails and call notes relating to your booking.
- Basic technical data collected automatically when you browse the site, such as pages visited and approximate location, via cookies and analytics (see section 5).
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and schedule, perform and follow up on repairs.
- To prepare quotes and invoices, process payments and honour guarantees.
- To contact you about your booking — for example arrival windows or parts availability.
- To keep records we are legally required to retain (for example tax and accounting records).
- To improve our website and services.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not use your details for third-party marketing.
3. Sharing of information
We only share personal information where necessary to deliver our service or where the law requires it:
- With our own technicians and administrative staff who need it to complete your job.
- With parts suppliers, but only technical details (appliance make and model), never your contact details unless a direct delivery to you is arranged with your consent.
- With our accountants, bank and payment processors for invoicing and payment purposes.
- With regulators, law enforcement or courts where disclosure is legally required.
4. How the contact form works
When you submit the booking form, your details are emailed to our office mailbox (info@fititappliancerepairs.co.za) so that we can call you back. The form includes an anti-spam measure and your information is transmitted for this single purpose only.
5. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses only functional cookies and privacy-respecting analytics to understand how visitors use the site (for example which pages are most popular). This data is aggregated and cannot reasonably identify you. Embedded services on the site — such as the Google Maps frame and Google Fonts — may set their own cookies subject to Google's privacy policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without losing access to the core content of our site.
6. How long we keep information
Enquiry details that don't lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Job cards, quotes and invoices are retained for 5 years to meet tax and guarantee obligations, after which they are securely destroyed.
7. Security
We take reasonable, appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, damage and unauthorised access — including password-protected devices and mailboxes, and limiting access to staff who need it.
8. Your rights under POPIA
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate or no longer needed.
- Object to processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforeg.org.za if you believe we've mishandled your information.
9. Contact us about privacy
For any privacy request or question, contact us at info@fititappliancerepairs.co.za or on 073 125 3829, marking your query "Privacy". We aim to respond within 10 business days.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version, with its date, will always be published on this page.
